Was given a bottle of this yesterday. I was pretty hammered when I tried it but I think it was utterly superb - as good as the abunadh that is my favourite.

My Dad received this as a joke on his birthday and I think it's really good.

Try Monkey Shoulder Scotch. Ignore the silly name. It's produced by William Grant and sells for around 30 a bottle. It's very smooth and tasty.

A colleague of mine who is Taiwanese brought a sample bottle of this the last time I was in Shanghai. I really liked it but couldn’t find this version in the States. He’s in town this week, and brought me a regular bottle.

Anyone had Edradour before? Even the 10 y/o is smooth as silk with a lot of body; citrus and leather notes. Quite good for a cheap bottle and my mates in Scotland love it. Kinda the opposite of Lagavulin or peaty spots, which I am not a big fan of.

Haven't had the Caledonia, but the same folks tell me it's amazing.

I am more of a fan of the peaty ones. The highlands have too little flavor. And that is a shame as they are typically the most affordable. I have gone to gin instead.

Really? That used to be my favorite Islay malt. I love the smoky peaty character. However, I noticed that the character became a bit rougher in the last ten years or so (I believe they had a aging house fire in the early 2000 decade.)
Too many watches, not enough wrists.
