and I decide I wanted a small well defined collection instead of so many that some would not get used in months if not longer so not really having a grail watch in mind .

I choose to sell some and others was gifted with an idea of getting towards a 12 watch collection maybe less .. at my point in time with collecting if I had a grail watch think I could cut down too two maybe, a beater and a grail but have no clue to my grail as it changes from time to time as my taste change ,
Am currently 34. I feel am doing well for my age as I have around 40 watches.

While I continuously search for old watches, antiques ... Sparing time, I also am learning to fix watches.

Also, the race to have complications is what i aim for. Understanding and working on them as well.
India is not a place for antiques, people prefer spending money on Branded products and technological advanced stuff.. Rather than looking at the old and preserving the same.

Thanks for sharing all the watches...And ur experience in this simple words.

yes I tend to lean towards vintage even thou my current keepers for the most part are fairly new it just easy to maintain modern ... yes been know to strip build / mod / repair watches myself but that just no decent local watch guys to do it ...

most my Russians I have or had was pre 80's and my swiss go back to the turn of the century my oldest was a converted ladies pendant watch with a pin and barrel movement .. and I love my 1912 trench watch but they are not really suitable for modern day even if they survived both wars

yes so my final collection with have both new and vintage more then likely .. but I was collecting since I could tell the time .. so it was a bit of a haphazard collection so it needed tweaking

In India, you have a Bulk load of people doing repairs.

But.. To find a specialist have its price. For me.. I have that specialist... Who teaches me to repair as well.

Plus he feels happy in sharing his knowledge with me, as their is no one to learn his knowledge. The new generation here wants to learn something which is easy money.

I am working on finding a few Vostok'... But ita not available here..... and even have been quoting multiple times on Roamer, Enicar, Sandoz and Vulcain.

    Lets hope I get them

won't surprise me if they turn up soon been seeing rados coming out of India now and sure i have seen some bostock for sale from India and even a 3133 my concern is whether repaired or franken thou as unfortunately India has a bad name for doing this ALOT most of us have bad story's of buys so yeah hard for any good seller to over come so hmmm their are a couple I might have been tempted to bid on if not for their local ..

if you have payppal and ebay nowaday buying from Russia is lots easier and you can still occasional get job lots of vostock not as many as one time and more expensive but they are pretty easy to fix .. I bought a ten lot of none working one's and made four out them so they was all original ...

so worth looking on the bay plus we have a Russian sub forum if you want advice on them before buying
