    your favorite Speedy??

    Pre-moon .. Professional .. Moonphase .. Day/Date ..

    Is it possible to choose one?

    For me, right now, it has to be the 3520 with the 1151 movement. It is based on the tried and true 7750 and I think is the most useful of the bunch in the modern era.

    I will always love the plain Jane Speedmaster Pro;

    That's my old driveway, doubling for The Sea of Tranquility, circa 1969.

    I do love the recent First Omega In Space edition that came out a couple of years ago, and the mid '90s model with the super-cool case-back engraving;

    Other than these models, nothing else in the Speedmaster range really thrills me.
    I've said this over on the other forum time and again- the Speedmaster Professional evokes such a strong aura of 1960's oil and gas pipelines, E-Type Jaguars (with Ann-Margret or Monica Vitti in the passenger seat), cool actors like Michael Caine, Rod Taylor or Connery with a brass Zippo lighter and soft-pack of unfiltered Camels in their hands.

    It's a perfect example of a mid-Sixties chronograph. Omega would be crazy to ever get rid of it from their line-up.
