Sad to say that's average around here, from our garden. I'm not quick enough to get them at sausage-size. For some silly reason we tend to plant a zucchini (courgette, etc.) every year, and the leaves get so big that we miss a few hiding underneath. If you forget to look for a few days, you're swamped. We often get several that are roughly the size of a lower human leg. They aren't so tough, luckily. I typically split them lengthwise, scoop out the seeds and stuff the middles with sausage, cooked rice, herbs etc, then bake them in the oven for 40 minutes or so.
