    Review: Evant Tropic Diver

So...possibly the alpina of the month?

    The pickup

    watchbox with a strap..bag?

they threw in a polishing cloth - 4 straps, good value

on the zulu it came with, has a nice custom buckle

i dont' like zulus..I like this one, tail is a bit long though

    nifty magnetic closures

    warranty is transferable

right away, i prefer the vintage version

side profile of the BB version

    inspection

damn I like it a lot

    The Good
I dig it a lot. Even though its a copy of the Breguet diver...there's nothing else like it.

Its got this wicked crystal thing going that actually make the lume plots appear distorted and larger
on the wrist though it works perfectly.

the rounded ceramic bezel, the stepped domed crystal

the surrounds on the hour markers, that little bevel on the date window..the fact that the date wheel matches the dial

    dimensions are great IMO

hands touches the markers on point, the seconds hand is fun.

    some cool caseback action going

other points of note - lume application is even - important for me

winding is way smooth, the bezel clacks along nicely the way Terry likes it (backplay only if u fiddle around)
LOVE THAT CLEAN DIAL, and the blackness of it too

    The Meh
its chunky...gnomon dude says its due to the WR..eh..?
good thing the lugs curve down

OMG whats going on with the lug holes???

this is on some german rubber backed strap

good thing the included straps kinda works...

gotta say military colors work the best

although it worked well with the toxicbonds

one other thing, the lume on the hands are just a shade different from the markers..

    The Comparisons
    pics should do the talking

    I think it wears great

Nice looking piece, mikey. I particularly like the narrow bezel.

Agreed. That bezel is fantastic! Great use of different markers and unlike most bezels on the market.

The aged lumed one works for some reason, where the more white just turns me off. So what do you call a Mercedes hand that does not have the Mercedes symbol in the middle? I see a bit of Explorer II in this. Very interesting.
    Cheers,

    Michael

Tell everyone you saw it on IWL!

I've usually referred to it as a lollipop hand, but there seems to be some disagreement about that. There were some Tudor Submariners that used that style hand for a brief time. I like the name so I'm sticking with it.

Maybe we should ask Breguet, since they designed the watch - rightly pointed out by Mikey, btw.

Kudos for including an ETA 2824-2 @ a reasonable price.

Count me in on that narrow bezel and add thatdomed sapphire crystal. What a great look combined.

The dome crystal and rounded ceramic bezel really set that watch apart don't they? Very nice!
Too many watches, not enough wrists.
