Ola! From South Dakota!
I've lurked for a while and wanted to step forward and say, hi.
Lived lots of places around the world and owned lots of watches over the years... Casio, Citizen, Seiko, Swatch, Omega, Rolex, novelty pieces and the odd Junker.
I'd love to connect with an independent watchmaker willing to work on a couple of old chronographs in need of some love and restoration.

Welcome to the forum Colin!
I don't know of any watchmakers on here (except hkEd who's in China); I've always heard that archer is decent - don't know of he's still around. However, you're still welcome to chat here - you probably know it's a quiet, friendly place so of that suits then stick around.
What's in the box these days then?

I'm not worried about sending stuff to Hong Kong. Used to live there for many years and have had a Rlx case refinished by the master, Michael Yang with great results... I'll see if I can lookup these users. Who do you trust to work on your watches when they need help?

HkEd is a trustworthy man for sure - I've designed and ordered forum in volume with him a few times. I actually don't know if he services watches at all though to be honest, but if he does then he has my stamp. However, look up archer - last I heard a few years ago he was a superb shout. But I'm sure others have better experience. I've never had a watch serviced...

Mostly "junkers". Nothing high-end...
I've been put in touch with chronometro.com who seem friendly, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Ever heard of them?

Oops... my bad. I meant "junkers" as in pieces of modest value :-)
I posted about one of my pieces here
