Is it chrome-plated brass?
You would need to completely strip the old plating, then fill the pits and polish it. The pitting would need to be filled with the same brass as the case to minimize colour differences after plating.
Is this a sentimental watch? Or a 'try to do it myself' project?

Fill with whichever metal sticks.
File down high spots.
Plate one layer of nickel or whatever to normalize colour of finished case, re polish then plate chosen finish ?
