Leaf shadows work quite well as multiple pinhole "camera oscura". We only had about 38% eclipse but it looked nice on the wall.

Why is everything crap quality these days?

I bought some document holders to hold some documents, surprising, I know. I’ve been dealing with a lot of papers lately and I need a way to keep them organized, or, at the very least, in the same place. The ones I got were these little translucent plastic ones with a thread closure. I used ones like them when I was in school, like middle school and high school. I don’t remember a single one ever breaking or failing. Within two uses, every single one of the ones I bought had fraying threads that were pulling themselves apart. Within three uses, several of them had cracking plastic.

Anything that looks like a step up in quality is PU leather, which is, basically, scrap bits of plastic glued together with carcinogenic glue. Kind of no thanks to that. Why isn’t there something in between total crap, regular crap, and a $100+ leather folder? I’d gladly pay a reasonable price for a durable folder or document holder that isn’t made of fake cancer leather or cheap plastic and thread that would get rejected from a sweatshop making knock-off Halloween costumes.

I think it's because people have realised that wrapping things in animal skin is a bit 80s.

    As in 1280s.

Pu leather ftw - love the stuff

PU leather is literal garbage, mate. It feels, smells, and wears like trash. There has to be better alternatives to real leather than fake leather stamped with a cancer warning. I mean, I’m fine with wrapping things in animal hides, but for those who want an alternative, I think they deserve a better one than plastic pretending to be leather.

I just feel like there should be something in between PU leather crap and this:

    https://www.leatherology.com/documen...e?color=cognac

    https://www.leatherology.com/leather...r?color=cognac

Because spending over $100 on a folder seems exorbitant even to me. But I’m close to just doing it because I’m sick of wading through seas of products I’m going to use twice and then have to throw out.
