LOL!!! No need for such a tremendous sacrífice.

On a more serious note: we know a bit of your collection and my problem suggesting a watch is that I'm afraid you'll not be happy with lower standards. As Geoff already pointed out, the Heritage line from Longines would - probably - be the one with more choices, given the context. Oris has some offers, but again, not sure you'll like them. You could always try a micro brand, but that's an area I don't know that well.

Meanwhile I guess I found other possibilities, specially: Girard Perregaux. This brand has a wonderful line: 1945 King size and are not difficult to find NOS right on (or even lower) your budget. I would look there.

    Hamilton Pan Europ

    Seagull 1963

All these together are only just on your budget too.

Another one I like is the Zodiac Sea Wolf reissue

Grand Seiko SBGR053 ¦ Nomos Tangomat Datum ¦ Tudor Pelagos ¦ Grand Seiko SBGA011

    Good luck.
The 1945 series is definitely on my radar, only problem is the prices in my country isn't that wallet friendly.

    Thanks.

Yup....it is one of my favorite brand. The fact that I know an AD pretty well also helps (or not). Thanks

A couple of the Chinese made are also on my radar - Seagull 1963, Beijing and most recently Dong Fang. Thanks

I am undecided with the MM300 current release and the LE (SBDX012). It's quite a big difference, dollars wise, for marginal changes, but I am a sucker for gold hands....

Tried the Hamilton sometime back. Somehow, it didn't sit very well on my wrist, but it's a beauty - both the black and blue edition. Thanks for tr suggestions.

TBH I have never understood the appeal of reissues if you can get the original for the same price or less (ie the Hamilton Intra-matic or that Zodiac Seawolf).

I mean if the original is basically impossible to get or is massively more expensive I can understand it (like Panerais for example) but personally I'd rather have the original.

And some other people, presumably, would personally rather have a new watch?

You've stumbled on my watch sweet spot or what I call modern vintage.

Probably the longest streak of reissues(just not in green)

    Or another:

    And Omega:

    or the 300:

And let's not forget the Mark II:

The Ball Skindiver is an update of a 1962 model by the same name:

I also have the Longines Legend Diver:

    Here are some divers together:

    The Zenith Type 20 GMT

This was a update of a 70s GO TV watch:
