I think your frontrunner is a great idea, here's some additional suggestions.

Actually I think $100 is a lot of money. I was talking in terms of what I will spend on a Calatrava or Overseas. Compared to them, the Rolex is substantially cheaper. Thus, in relative terms the Rolex is not a lot of money. Okay?

Are you ok with used? If so, the Breguet chronos are very handsome watches and sell for around that price, used. Also, the IWC Pilot Top Gun Miramar - all ceramic case, iconic series from IWC, looks very sharp on the wrist.

Oh yeah, I'm fine with used. The 16570 in the OP is out of production. I do like Breguet chronos, but I've only ever seen them more like the 8-10K range. Although, I will say I don't do ceramic cases. An entire watch case made of pottery?

I was never a big IWC guy, but seeing more of them here (and my friend has a Portofino chrono, which is really nice, but too dressy for me), I am warming up to their pilot watches.

I actually do like it! Might be a little too close to my Ranger, though.

Definitely some interesting choices, the most attractive being the Bremont. The Pita just doesn't do it for me unless there's hummus about, and my problem with Nomos has always been the lugs being far too long. Sure, it wouldn't matter if I only wore it on a NATO, but I think their watches are too dressy to only be worn on a NATO. Even my Ranger, which basically lived on a NATO since the day I got it is now sitting on a leather strap (an iyonk, the only kind that could unseat the king of comfort NATOs). The FC is one of those watches I appreciate, but would never actually own. Just not my style.

The shade of blue on that Nomos is ridiculous. So lovely. And that IWC....I know it looks basically like a million other watches and it has a date, but that blue is very enticing indeed. The Bremont looks very good, but I tend not to go for internal bezels. I find them a bit fussy and less useful than external ones. The Damasko is nice, but I wish they did a no-date version, or at the very least not a day-date. A bit too much orange on the Sinn for me.

But man, I think I need to give IWC another look.
