Yep. The purist will say no watch at all with a tux.

I know I’m probably gonna catch hell for this...I was recently married and not only did I wear a watch, I wore a chrono :O gasp! I did dress it up with a nice high-gloss lizard. It fit nicely under the French cuff, so it wasn’t an eyesore. In my defense, the watch was my groom’s gift and wearing it wasn’t an option. The offending piece:

Truly I doubt that anyone here would blink at you wearing that for your wedding. More likely we would sidle up to you and ask... "Cool watch, what is that?" There are no rules. And sadly, nobody ever asks us what watch we are wearing. That's why we have to show people here, we're the only people who care.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

That was the amazing thing at Robs wedding. Nearly everyone that was not family was a watch geek including the women. Most of the day was like a GTG.

I would wear that in a heartbeat with a tux and I think it would look great. BTW, I really like some of the Towson watches.

Do you know what else? I would wear my SM 300MC with a tux, steel bracelet and all. And I would also wear this one with a tux, if I had it:

What, your not allowed to know the time when wearing a tux? That's just silly talk from people that don't have a watch that's worthy. Generally not the case around here.

Fortunately, I don't have to wear a tux, often. But, when it comes to fashion / etiquette rules, there's always ways to break them, as long as you know how and/or you just don't care, which, by the way, I usually find perfectly acceptable (within 'civilized' limits).

Sport Watch to Dress Watch
Thinking why is it OK to have a phone in your tux pocket that is probably as big as a flat screen TV these days, but not a watch on your wrist. I surrender my watch when they surrender their phone.
If people can wear sneakers with a tux, a watch is far less obvious.
