(A strong candidate but rare these days and I'm not sure if I'll commit to a proper hunt).

^ I'd hunt for this one (of your choices). That's just flat out nice.

I was gonna suggest a Hamilton Khaki field watch instead of the viewmatic, but then you mentioned no pilot/field...

    Wait. Whoah. Old thread

But Kenneth saved your rears big time, and you're getting away with it this time.

(Also, I'm wondering if it's going to scratch my Alpnist itch, because I'm still gravitating towards it, subscribing to threads about it and stuff... but don't tell anyone).

Ah well, we like to tease a bit There's no fun in spoon-feeding you the answer straight off, that would take all the fun out of it.
Our job is to subliminally coax you in the right direction; you have to put in a bit of effort.

We're quite pleased with ourselves this time, as we managed to get over a dozen pages and 264 posts out of it (265 counting this one)
Some people have opinions - The rest of us have taste.

I don't see how they have anything to do with the Alpinist, though.

More like an alternative to Longines Conquest.
I always forget EPOS. There's a regulateur on this forum that always makes me jealous and a Soleure that is simply beautiful. Ok, maybe not jealous, but certainly weak in the knees.
Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

I'd kept returning to it so I pulled the trigger yesterday. Third time lucky?

41mm. Looks somewhat incomplete without both 12 and 6.
