Thread: Tired 70's? Sekonda automatic

  1. #11
Just did a bit more digging.
Looks like Ranfft says its a Slava 2427 auto twin barrel movement.
They confirm the button is the quick date set but I have yet to press it in case something pops out
    Cheers.

Found a case gasket as you suggested for amphibian. 32/30mm perfect.
Now for a crown/stem gasket. I'll measure that tomorrow as my eyes are telling me to knock it off for today.

    Thanks again for the guidance.

Saw another similar watch on ebay.
The gasket had a little tab that aligns with cutout. Wonder if its absolutely necessary?

well think it is to do with it being air tight water tight but think as long as it seal the back when the ring is screwed in you could get away with it.. as the only other option is to buy another watch as faulty and hope it has the right bit's you want and that could be fifty fifty at best
but saying that I have bought two of the same watch to make one first rate one so it does work these old autos are great when in full working order but most seem to have had a hard time and the one's that look a+ condition are ridiculously high in price.

so that using two to get one great one is the way to go and as it is all the same model would not count as a cut and shunt or a Frankenstein in my mind at least haha
