Thread: Find me something with a champagne dial or I'll wear this!

Angry Find me something with a champagne dial or I'll wear this!

    I'm armed and dangerous.

I'm not blind to the date and it's bugging me a little, but not enough to immediately discard the watch as a whole, I still like it. That said, I already have and wear the black one, so I want to research my options.

    Criteria:
    - auto with hack and hand-wind
    - 38-40mm
    - champagne (or similar) dial
    - lume greatly appreciated
    - no gold accents
    - blue accents frowned upon
    - affordable (under GBP1k new, ideally around half of this)
    - modern (no vintage)

To elaborate on the dial colour. This Hamilton champagne is pretty much spot on: silverish sunburst with a tint of warmth. I might want to go a little bit darker (eg salmon), but not lighter (eg cream or beige, unless the texture could mitigate that lightness with shades). To give you an example, I'd happily take a shot at SARB037 if I found one, but I find SARB035 too light. Then again, some colours described as copper or bronze might fit the bill... I want something that will look light against my skin but won't flash up my wrist, if that makes sense.

    Considerations so far:

Other Hammy Khakis, like this King:

They dials are generally cluttered with too many numerals and what not, the one I have looks the cleanest and I like it the most.

Too dressy and would probably wear too large.

A bit dressy, no lume, blue accents, and a cold shade of dial (silver rather than champagne), but I like it!

This might be the one but good luck finding it.

Other than the above, I haven't found anything worth mentioning -- but to be fair, I didn't consider lume-less designs before so I might have missed something.

Do you have any suggestions that come to mind? My ultimatum stands.

    I wouldn't get another Hamilton.

Ball makes some lighter dialed watches. Only suggesting silver since you posted up the blue/silver Hamilton, I saw this Fireman Victory on the WUS sale forum. 40mm, good WR, great lume, current (not vintage), no blue or gold, it's just a little lighter than you wanted.

    Ha, good idea!
I'll check out what's there for me in Ball light dials department.
I like Ball watches in general but I have two issues with them:
    1. The obscure origin of their cases -- most likely made in China.
    2. Not getting new tritium tubes: if I buy a watch that was released a few years ago, the tritium is a few years closer to its half-life. And even if I buy a new release, I still don't know the age of the tubes. And from their reply a few monts ago I understand that changing the tubes is a paid service.
Still, I will check them out to make sure I'm not missing out on something.

I can’t think of one champagne-dialled watch I like. I’ll be interested to see if someone comes up with one.

On quite a lot of real pics this dial looks totally champagne:

Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

I searched Tissot, Certina, Orient, FC, Longines and a few micro-brands and I had to give up. Can't help, you. Sorry.
