    I never read comics. I was always checking things out from the "Weekly Reader" program or the school library.

    About that era, '63 I can remember finding gems like Connell's The Dangerous Game, 30 Seconds Over Tokyo, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Condensed kids versions, to be sure but it set me on course of enjoying books for my entire life.

    It's original concept was a heavy-handed allusion to racial segregation, McCarthyism and any number of other social issues, particularly in America.

    Some say Prof Xavier was modelled on MLK and Magneto represented Malcom X.
