The Stooges Funhouse, Run Out Groove edition. I love this record. There are those who criticize it for the complete lack of post production as these are direct from the master tapes. Iggy's not always as loud as on the final mix and Ron Asheton's guitar is never as loud. Boy is his playing fierce, sharp and vicious though. One also gets a better impression of the utter mayhem that was the Stooges.

Notorious BIG was so good. Such a talent, taken so early. Listening to some of his post-death albums right now. While they’re not as good as Ready to Die and Life After Death, they’re definitely underrated.

While I'm going through the thread (currently on p34 and yes, I'll go through EVERYTHING), I see a worrying shortage of non-English language stuff. I'll start fixing it with this:

Speak of putting auto-tune singers to shame. A few weeks ago I learned that she died in 2015. You may be familiar with her songs from GITS:SAC soundtrack:

(Great thread, btw -- I'm getting to know a lot of old and new from it).

With the passing of Lorrie, it's a Collins Kids kinda day.

I've always had a soft spot for snotty dance punk kids. I think I might like this band.

Not bad.... It's got the right kind of feel about it; but it's missing something. I think it may be that it's just a bit 'clean'
The guitarist has a bit of Wilko Johnson about him, but not quite as animated.

Prompted by my own comment above....
From when (IMO) they were at their best:
