Bringing it back to life
I wish he had replaced the bezel, but I would still LOVE to have this watch.

That was great - I enjoyed every second.
The bezel is fine by me, especially if replacements are hard to come by. Even a genuine part might not look right if it looked like new.
Thanks for that.

Great watch and great vid, thanks for posting!

All I know is that if I attempted something like this, I would never remember which tiny screw on that table went where. And that's not even counting the ones I would have lost on the floor...

I though that, but I did notice at one point that he had separated them on one of those compartment trays that watchmakers have.

Eventually, yes, but not at first. Separating them into a tray would only help me minimally, and not with the losing parts issue.

I have watched little bits fall from my desk into the carpet and I saw EXACTLY where they landed and still never found them.

Last resort for me is to unscrew the magnetic kniferack from the kitchen wall, wrap tissue around it and wave it over the area I saw it land, that's if it was a steel part and not base metal.

Putting a watch back together using all the parts is merely a craft. Putting it together with parts left over raises it to an art.

Every time I see a video where people take little things apart, whether it’s watches or guns or anything small and mechanical, I always think (1) I’d lose those immediately and (2) that person doesn’t have a cat, clearly, or everything would be pushed on the floor the second he looks away.
