    Is the fit different between the fixed/wired lugs ?...or just a different look ?

    Oh yes sir.Different fit all together + cleaner look IMO.
    OP makes something different for everybody.

    I wouldn't say the "feel" is worlds different between the wire and fixed lugs (given the same style case and size) but the fixed lug watches "wear smaller". While I have two wire lug's in the Pamily I do tend to prefer the fixed lugs because it makes for much quicker and easier strap changes. Not saying the wire lugs are difficult just not as quick.

    Edit Note my wire lug experience is limited to the 45 and 47mm sizes. I don't own a 42mm Panerai yet but the 512 (fixed lug) is next on my shopping list.

    Here's the 243 I let go this summer. Want to pick up a 42mm 523 one of these times

    I am currently pam-less but owned a few 176, 177, 243(twice) and a base 000
