Maybe not well-known outside Europe, but an absolute master. He had that gallic flair that you can track back to Django Reinhardt, but he was his own man.

    So young.

We have lost so many of the greatest generation. My neighbor was 95 years old and he passed away 2 days ago.

Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

The inimitable twangmeister Duane Eddy has left the building. Two of his best, Rebel Rouser and the theme to Peter Gunn, are ne plus ultra early rock instrumentals and smacked my head around when I first heard them and I haven’t recovered yet.

    ^^^

Inimitable and influential - and fun. I didn’t realise he was still around - well, until he wasn’t.

Steve Albini, Chicago's own legendary producer and musician, of a heart attack at the too-young age of 61. Producer of so many famous indie rock bands/albums, like Nirvana's In Utero, the Pixies' Surfa Rosa, PJ Harvey's Rid of Me...I could go on.
