    Several years ago I (sadly) made the transition from manual transmission to automatic. (Literally the only reason for this is the damn manufacturer decided for reasons unfathomable to only offer the AWD model in auto.) Now, when I drive a manual sometimes when I’m coming to a stop I momentarily forget to take it out of gear. The below pictured piece is one of my two handaufzugen, hand crank for those who don’t sprechen krautspeak. And, like driving a manual, sometimes I forget that you actually have to wind this beastie. I’ll be weedling along doing whatever it is that I do, and I’ll check the time only to realize the damn watch stopped running three hours ago. At first I think what the heck…? And then I remember that I forgot to wind it before putting it on. Senior moment? Room temperature IQ? You decide.
