One in... one out.
I posted in the other thread about buying a new watch. Naturally, I'm looking in my watch box and wondering what I should move on to make room. I had a couple options in mind, with the Zenith Espada always coming up for a potential sale. The other options were serviced and pressure tested recently, so I headed over to my watchmaker to get some work done on the Zenith.
I asked him to regulate and pressure test it, as well as clean the residue/oxidation off the hour hand. He was very confident that he could do it quickly and easily, he has a stack of work and gave me a 2 week return. I thought that was perfect. He inquired about the market value of the watch and I told him what I paid and what I'd ask to cover the purchase price and the work I'd had done on the watch in the 5 years I'd owned it (pressure test, polishing bracelet, touching up case - all done by him).
Before I made it home I had an offer from him to buy the watch. I might have preferred an IWL'er get it because I'd see it on the WRUW occasionally, but I think this is as good a home as any for the watch.

Savagely Average
Selling it without dealing with internet tire kickers? That is ideal! Congrats!

I would have bought from you last time, just to keep it nearby when you changed your mind. But now, meh... so much for good intentions. Congrats on the Rad Pam!
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

It’s a great watch and I’m glad I owned it, but also happy to send it to a new home.

I love it when things sell easily. So congrats on a hassle-free sale.
I don't really ever have regrets when I sell or trade a watch. With my upcoming retirement, I may decide to let a few go since, as has been the case for the past 25 + years, I've let the number swell too much. By constantly tuning the collection it may be hard now since I really like everything I have. No rush to do anything.
Cheers,
Michael
Tell everyone you saw it on IWL!
