Rado's Manhattan models have quite a following among collectors but I always failed to see the appeal. I decided, however, that if I was serious about my collection then I should get one so I recently picked up this Manhattan V.

As you can see, it was in terrible cosmetic condition, although it was running and keeping time.
I took it apart to see the extent of the gunk, the construction makes a project like this fairly simple.

The dial is covered in gunk from the failed rubber gasket.

I sanded and rebrushed the case, although there was one deep sent that I couldn't remove.

With the crystal and dial cleaned and the original 7 row NSA bracelet run through the ultrasonic cleaner it turned out pretty well.
