Possibly got a Grail yesterday
I won this watch on eBay.
A dateless transitional era Scuba Dude. These watches are very rare. I have talked to one guy who owns a blue dialed version and I have seen a couple pictures of the black dial version. What I do know is that the dial looks correct, the movement is correct and the other black dial version I have seen has a black bezel. However both of those used different cases.

life would be so much simpler if one could attain a 'grail' for $77 plus shipping - i'm guessing that one came from the Chernobyl area judging from the careful use of the pincers

It is more a Grail in the sense that I have been hunting for it for over a year.

If only more often "grail" was used to describe something that required a long and arduous search, not just a fat wad of $$$$ in the bank when clicking "buy"

Absolutely! When I attain a grail (and I have a couple of 'em) I want to hear:
"He chose... wisely"
instead of:
"It's a good think your pocketbook was so deep!"
Though in a couple of cases, I'll need a deep pocketbook but not in the thousands-upon-thousands level of some, mine are +/- $1,000 or so.
Points to the person who catches the reference in my 'what I want to hear'.
Oh, and I must say, it's a nice looking grail we're discussing!
