    What I learned...

...from wearing only one watch for an entire week:

    1) It was nice not having to set the time and day/date every day.
    2) Changing straps every day can be a PITA process.
    3) I really missed my other watches, and I now appreciate them all the more.
    4) I did not miss figuring out which watch I was going to wear the next day. Props to the "grab & go" concept.
    5) The right watch can work in pretty well any situation, and the Orient Mako is such a watch.

I could have gone longer with just the Orient but I really don't want to. It was a fun experiment/challenge, but I'm glad it's over.

Thanks for the final report, Hayday.

I repeated this experiment a few times, the last one was 3 years with the same watch. Yes, that's true. The same watch, everyday for 3 years, until it started to develop a strange behaviour.

I agree with all your conclusions. And no matter how strange this may sound to us now, the conclusion #5 "The right watch can work in pretty well any situation" is absolutely true.

This may be true, but the right watch works in damn near every situation. I wouldn't wear the Mako with a tuxedo but I've worn it with a shirt and tie many a time.

Don't ask me. I rarely wear a tux and I'm definitely fashion's dyslexic (within limits)...

    A) the right watch with a tux is no watch
    B) wearing one PW for a week is easy
    C) but...wearing ONLY ONE WW for ONE DAY is impossible!

I feel your pain. I wear the same watch four days out of the week, as I go to high risk areas at night where I'm not willing to put one of my treasured watches on the line should someone stick a gun in my face and ask for my belongings. So four days out of the week, I wear my Timex Weekender. It's actually quite nice for a $40 quartz chrono, and I enjoy wearing it on different NATOs, but I miss being able to wear my Speedmaster or B-1 or MM300 freely.

I've seen many a Mako or Rey with business casual attire or even a suit in my time.

It's been so many years since I've worn a tuxedo, it's hardly worth mentioning.
