Do you Brits generally cover your fries ("chips") in mayo like they do in mainland Europe?

Ketchup is the standard accompaniment but I don't like the stuff. I was introduced to chips and mayo by the Dutch and what a great move!

Can't stand ketchup on chips. Mayo is okay (garlic mayo is great!) but I wouldn't sully anything from a really good chippy with it. Salt. Malt vinegar. That's all you need.

    BUT!

Chips and curry sauce. That's living.

You're dead to me Gary. Curry sauce is for northerners.

Jeez Geoff; what's wrong with Ketchup? I call it 'tuner-upper'.

If you come to a fork in the road; take it, and then put it down so someone else can use it.

It's just liquid sugar. Bbq sauce is an acceptable substitution at burger king.
