The Peoples Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) was established in 1949, they used Soviet supplied MiG-15 as a defence force, and soon after became involved with the Korean War.
In the 60s the alliance between the USSR and China weakened and China was forced to use home built equipment for its armed forces.
The Tianjin Watch Company built the first Chinese produced with in 1961, and in 1963, using Swiss tooling, Pilot Chronographs for the Air Force

Again this watch is supposed to represent a very well known Pilot Chronograph, the Tianjin 1963, but without the sub dials and pushers there is little resemblance

There are many reproductions available and the original factory, now privatised, is producing remakes of the original that are very well regarded.
