The increased operational speeds of aircraft during World War II meant that even slight variations in timing could cause large navigational errors.
in 1940 the British Air Ministry received an order of Omega wristwatches, specifically designed for use by pilots and navigators, the watches features a 'Weems' rotating/locking bezel.
This type of bezel was designed by Phillip Weems, an American Naval officer, after whom it is named, and featured on watches by other Swiss manufacturers.

Case
42.2mm brushed finish. 44.4mm including crown, 49.2mm lug to lug, 10.2mm deep. 36mm interior aperture.
Plated polished non-rotating bezel, with embossed black infilled indices Arabic numeral at 10 minute intervals 5mm grooved crown 31mm flat glass.
Case backs embossed with Eaglemoss logo and description of the watch.
Dial
30.5mm White coloured dial.
Black printed minute scale at outer edge. Hours indicated by Black arabic numerals and a red 12.
Sword style polished finish hours and minutes hand with white infill, and thin straight seconds hand.
Standard EM Epson AL55a movement.
Strap
20mm Khaki canvas strap, 20mm polished buckle, aprox 180-220mm fitting.

I much prefer this type of strap it feels substantial without being stiff.

Again the watch is a very good representation of the Weems Omega, though the usual fixed bezel is disappointing, and no second 'lock' crown of course, just the addition of Breguet style hands, blue or black, and this would be great.
