Pretty much the look/aesthetics for the shallow me, monotonous plain/basic/simple dial setup sans date/complications is perfect. Rolex has the most that qualify, Omega a few, Breitling none so far . . .
OK, I'll play:
I like the solidity of Rolex. Mine is completely trustworthy after 34 years of service. I grew it from a pup, and it has served me well.
Some of the designs do seem outdated, though some still maintain their classical appeal. Some models would be more appealing with less polished hardware and fewer shiny surfaces. I don't like that Rolex is so commonly seen as a status symbol, is denigrated for that, despite having a rugged, reliable, and accurate movement.
I like the classic Omegas better than most of the new ones. I do like the Speedy ... can't help it. And the old Connies. The movements are supposed to be excellent. My Seamaster GMT is very solid and one of my most accurate mechanicals.
The AT, as excellent and versatile as it is, is too staid, the Seamaster (diver) is behind the style curve. Some models have grown outsized and gotten Rolex-expensive.
Breitling (fom my limited exposure) makes a fine product, well made. I understand the B1 movement is excellent.
Often much too busy looking for my tastes, and I just don't understand how the "Superocean Heritage," a diver-styled watch, has no minute indications on the bezel.
You know all three brands are going to make quality watches. There are specific models from each I absolutely love and others I would love to take a hammer to. I also like brands that make original signature designs. You immediately know (or guess if it's copied) a Rolex, Omega, or Breitling build.
This is a tough one. I like all three, but since I have an Omega, I'm a bit biased. I do find my Planet Ocean (2500) to be the nicest looking Diver period. That being said, I might prefer some sort of vintage Sub if I could ever afford one. The Milsub might be the coolest of them all. Ideally some day I will add a Rolex or three, but first I need to get a Speedy Pro.
As far as Breitling, I like the classic Navitimer and the Super Ocean. I don't own any currently, but maybe someday.
I like Rolex for the consistency in their design language and how each updated model is an evolution rather than revolution.
There are outliers like the Celini and Prince but in general, you will be able to identify a Rolex even without spotting the coronet.
That said, I dislike the ostentatious models the brand does but understand that as a business, Rolex has to cater to a wide range of customers with different palates.
Omega's designs tend to be revolutionary rather than evolutionary, catered more towards the fashion forward crowd. There is nothing inherently wrong with that but I can't help feeling that it makes older models appear dated.
I appreciate the value proposition Omega provides and how they have kept the Speedmaster Pro virtually unchanged despite their revolutionary nature.
I have to say nothing from Breitling speaks to me, the SuperOcean Heritage did get my attention but I detracted by the highly polished surfaces and mesh being the only metal bracelet option.
