Saw my first Spring Drive Seiko last night
It's rare that a Seiko outlet store has a Spring Drive watch in stock. So I was really surprised when the guy mentioned it after my usual "what interesting automatics are here today?"
It was an Ananta, and was really beautifully made.

But I can't wrap my mind around the styling. Or the thickness.
The continuous movement of the seconds hand was mesmerizing, and the GMT function was perfectly implemented, with the quick-set moving the 12-hour hand in one-hour increments without stopping the movement. With a watch that runs within a few seconds a year, it is important to be able to change timezones without stopping the watch.
The finish on the visible part of the movement was excellent.
