Seiko Alpinist an hour or so before surgery...look for my “best mechanical watch to wear while falling down the stairs” thread in a few days. I’ll need participation from this good people on this...
I just swapped-out the battery so my Timex Ironman gets a rare start today:

My watchmaking bonafides thus documented, all I need to do now is sit back and wait for the "likes" to roll in!
I guess this is technically a double post, but between the mead and sun I got my days mixed up so here goes again:

In fairness I didn't say it was an especially nice Hawaiian shirt...but even so, notice how the right watch can easily make a $12 shirt look like a $13 or $14 shirt.

I think the Visodate could get worn more often. I have a 34mm Max Bill Hand-Winding and wear it all the time with shorts, sandals, and a $12 Hawaiian shirt. Especially on mesh these watches have a...
Could just be me, but the watch really comes alive on mesh...I've never liked that model more than in this shot.
Maybe a candidate for (loose) mesh?
This is a very good site that covers the evolution of the MIL-W-46374 over a 30+ year period. It shows to some extent how times and thinking change.
Three mile walk for morning coffee at the Agua Hendionda Lagoon Discovery Center. The actual sharks are in the ocean just on the other side of I5, but I don't expect they have much to fear from me....
Modest proposals:
1) Someone needs to learn how to bend tritium tubes into rounded shapes. A Ball watch with Seamaster 300-type numbers would be pretty awesome.
2) I still hate spring...
I object! Emotionally anyway...not sure what New York state law has to say about not liking one of the three coolest bracelets in existence.
Take the next big leap and spring for a VC Overseas!
The finished version of that shank looks nothing like I expected.

I've had a couple of Citizen's and a Casio that setup like that. It makes you feel smart just working through the process. On a medium-slow day it could count as my primary accomplishment. Also,...
Random, top of my head watch-related gut reactions for today:
1) My God but Omega's website is really stupid and hard to use*.
2) The most useful watch would be:
Mid-sized
100m WR

How did I know it would be at least 42mm? I like the brand, but my theory is Ball monitors my posts then creates watches with a single detail that prevents me from acquiring one their glowing...
Is this against the rules? No need for votes, but I took it today and like it enough to want to participate.

Also, with apologies to the guy who owns the VC, PP, and others, FuzzyB's daughter's choice is the greatest watch I've ever seen.

You must be referencing the highly anticipated for 2018 "Flushing, Queens 163rd St." LE:

This is of course an unauthorized spy photograph. The real version will probably have applied...
If they apply that adjective to the actual watch I'm sure they could get an extra grand by calling it the Obliquos LE. It just sounds so impressively erudite and masculine....thrown in a free bottle...
Finally. Someone created a watch dial that reminds me of the walls of my old army barracks. I'd been waiting 30 years for someone to capture the hopeless tedium of that room. Factor in the orange...
