This is what happens, when you sleep 4.5 hrs, go for a 6k run and to cardio class with the wife in the evening.

I maybe might not follow that advice though ;).
IMDB ratings are definitely a tricky thing. I have been burned too many times by 7+ rated movies that were absolute garbage. Like Gone Girl for example. Who watches this mess and thinks it's a good...
Just finished the 4th season of "True Detective" with the wife yesterday. Boy, what a mess. Don't bother watching it if you haven't already. Rather re-watch the excellent 1st season.
The 4th season...
I listen to theology podcasts when running :). I think if I was alone with my thoughts while running, I wouldn't put one foot outside the door.
(I'm aware that wasn't the inspiration you referred to...
I have a funny story that relates to that. My brother-in-law is a programmer and one of the companies he worked for once had a meeting in which someone from another company wanted to present a new...
Garmin Fénix 7X.
Gotta say - it surprisingly sits a bit better on the wrist than the 47mm Pro version. Both are comfy but because of the larger size the 7x seems to better distribute the weight and...
Garmin Fénix 7 Pro.

New Garmin Fenix 7 Pro to keep my 7X company and to have something to switch around. Can't become a one-watch guy just because I'm wearing Garmins now :D.

Sounds like a good plan. Walking burns almost as much calories as running, at least according to the Garmin app. I took a 7 km walk with my wife and the Garmin Fenix claimed it burned 600...
Thanks! I did another 10k the next day. But I dialed back a little to not overstrain the tendons and joints and my knees. Still at 95 kg (209 lbs) at the moment, even though that is already 15 kg (33...
Self-employed. So commuting in the dark luckily doesn't happen for me.
If we kept winter time as standard time in Germany it would mean that in the summer, the sun would rise at around 3 a.m. That would be quite annoying. It's bad enough to fall asleep when staying up...
My Garmin Fenix 7x thinks I'm ready for some running. But I'm only doing some light cardio in the evening probably. Overdid it slightly last week with two 10k (km not miles) runs for which I think I...
Probably an important factor, according to Wiki.
AFAIK you need an A/D-converter to translate the analog signal into digital. We also have one of those old rotary dial phones, I tried to connect it once, it did ring indeed but you couldn't hear...
I bought some new running shoes today and to test them, I did my very first 10k. Slowly of course, trying to stay in a lower heart beat range. I was glad to manage that distance at all, after just...
Spooky
Looks pretty nice! Just read a review on it. Too bad that there seems to be no seller in the EU stocking these.
But it's not like I don't have enough flashlights already.
Playing with the projector is just epic IMHO. It's an LG PH450UG. No longer made unfortunately but if you can find one, get it. We bought it 2017 and it's been running flawlessly for maybe 3 to 4 hrs...
Most of the time I play on the Xbox btw. Bought it used for 200€ with a 2TB hardrive. I mostly play it hooked up to the projector (a small LG short distance front projector) -- nothing beats that in...
Awesome -- I need to tell these to my son who's a big gamer himself. Finishes games that are way too hard for me like Elden Ring.
The "Games don't make you violent, lag does" is hilarious!
Probably but we had "Das Schwarze Auge" (The black eye) which was very similar. Pen-and-paper RPG. Played that a lot as a kid. And Morrowind still has very similar mechanics, where combat is like...
How did I miss that thread?
When I was 14 days in the hospital at the beginning of the year I started another run of Morrowind. My all-time favourite game. I only had my laptop with me ( I thought...
Never even heard of it.
But I watched Bullet Train last night and was surprised that I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Switch off brain and enjoy the over-the-top violence and action.
Only cut back one bush in the garden so far.
