Congrats! Get ready for your fingertips to ache! I went with a Mexican Fender for my first electric, but a Squier is a great starting guitar. I should really pick mine back up.

The #4 layer used to be made in Japan--I have one from the '90's and the quality is better than the American ones being made at that time...
Once this stay at home mess is all over, I want to sell everything I’ve got except my Fat Strat. I got into the habit of buying up some cheapies that sounded good, but now I just need less clutter. Once I sell those, I will pick up another bass, probably. I enjoy playing bass sometimes. A bass or maybe a Telecaster or a low end Les Paul.

I have a nice Les Paul Studio model I never use since I got the ‘59 that I should sell. But unless you want to switch to playing left handed, it wouldn’t do you much good.

Honestly, I can’t be much worse playing left handed than right handed at this point.

I’m largely ambidextrous...or at least confused. I play guitar and bass lefty, but drums and flute (badly) right handed. I write, play tennis, and throw left handed, but play golf, hockey and box (when I did) righty.

Tools I use with either hand, and I switch hit (weakly) in baseball.

    So generally messed up...

I was mildly ambidextrous as a child, I worked on writing and batting left handed. But as the years went on, I neglected that and it’s gone now. I’m fully right handed.
