Thread: pic heavy, Baselworld

    Laco

i fekin loved this!! (happy st. patricks btw).

looks like it was dug out of a field, but no!! fully working ETA inside it.

i think it was meant to be a gimmick in the display, and i was impressed that it still ran - but apparently it go so much attention, it might turn production.

also LOVED the strap. it's two pieces of leather stitched at the end, so the buckle never leaves the strap. like a lo-tech deployant.

that's how it used to be (the lady had an original one long enough to wear around your thigh to show me)

    absolutely loved it.

i need this strap. Hirsch half and half ( rubber on the underside)

the guy was totally helpful even though i said i'm a regular joe, not going to do business.

    also available in carbon.

nice, but after seeing The Best Strap In The World for Vger, it pales into comparison.

also available in full rubber. very supple

this is the stand i mentioned earlier, where the watchmaker spent time with me. saw him install the spring and maybe bridge (i called it butterfly). then screw in the 'points' on the balance wheel. did you know they are made of gold? they are so tiny!! the screwdriver stabs the head of the screw so that it really embeds itself into the head, then the screw doesnt fall off even the screwdriver is pointing down.

the jewell screws are even tinier. he let me use his loupe to check them out. weirdly small, but perfect! miniscule thread. left me wowed.

he encouraged me to visit the factory and have the workshop tour.

    very nice guy.

forgot to mention. the above is what he was wearing and he let me play with it. otherwise, this was Hall 1 ... no touchy!
