    We do have a maximum photo display size of 800X800 px here.
    We'd like to make everyone happy, but we are constrained economically by bandwidth and storage caps (we have to pay for the forum out of our own pockets.) Also vBulletin software doesn't allow us to have different photo sizes for different forums.
    We have to make sure that the pic displays on most screens without the annoyance of scrolling up and down or back and forth.
    If you upload huge photos to Photobucket they also scale for display size.

    Thanks for the clarification. I usually size to 800 anyway but thought I'd seen bigger on some threads.

    You may have, but they would have been linked from another hosting site. I believe that if you have a Pro account on Photobucket, it will allow you to retain your original size, otherwise they reduce it as well.

    Sure you might have done but they were not uploaded here. Photobucket allows 1024X768 I think.
