Nice little restore I just finished

    Hey Cats

    Hamilton calibre 986A.

A precious metal scrapper I bump into from time to time on the thrift/pawn shop circuit I run through tossed this to me along with some movements. Too nice to not throw it in the parts pile. Needed is 6 position wire closed lug replaced so a bit of sterling rod and silver solder set that right, case, crystal polish, movement cleaning, oil and reg and she's good to go. Even on the vintage cuff it works, hopefully my Lady will like it

Well my Lady didn't like it, well she liked it but says it's not really her style so away it goes to the bay.

The movement is so beautiful. A shame it couldn't find a home with you.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

Thanx guys. I hear ya that it can't have a home with us considering what my research found out. This watch is somewhat historically significant being Hamilton's first Lady's watch and with it being so large for a watch of the 20's.

I'm sure it will be loved in its new home.

My friend wears a watch--always running, but never the right time. I've offered to fix the time for him many times. It bugs me.
