    Hi everyone , seeing as we have a thread on early auto's how about manual wind up's . I have not got many real early models but do have this Tressa . I know some of you have some so please join in. DW.

    Gorra few windup vintage watches, but I'll start with the oldest, this 'ere 1953 vintage Smiths De Luxe.

    Then another Smiths De Luxe, this time a 1959 model. Currently on its way back from the watchmender unfixed 'cos it needs replacement parts wot don't grow on Swiss trees.

    Then the earliest manual wind chronograph, this 'ere ca. 1962-63 vintage Strela 3017.

    Another manual wind chronograph, the 1969ish Stowa Landeron 248.

    Probably marketing suicide by Stowa when the likes of Heuer had started mass producing automatic chronos at the same time.
