Quick review of the Citizen Blue Angels World Timer Chronograph

    Hi All,

I have recently returned from a trip to new york and still in a bit of a jet lag daze trying to re-adjust to UK time and thought I'd do a quick review of a recent purchase from my trip. The Citizen Blue Angels World Timer Chronograph is a pilot watch following on from the old Citizen Blue Angels analogue/lcd chrono. The case measures 43mm and 49mm lug to lug (approx). It can quick adjust time to 26 different time zones and has a slide rule under the sapphire glass opererted by a crown at the 8 o'clock position. It has the standard crown and 2 pushers on the right side of the case and comes in a leather strap or bracelet. I went for the leather version as i thought it looked the best. It has a thin dark blue bezel with yellow trim around the outer edge with the yellow band being slightly recessed. It wears light and at 12.5mm thick can fit under a shirt cuff quite easily. Where this watch really shines though in my opinion is as a travel watch. With the quick timezone change operated by pulling out the crown to the first position all you then do is turn the crown to the desired time zone (the crown is bi-directional). The large second hand indicates which time zone you are currently in. The manual has a guide to tell you what the ref on the sub bezel is each time zone. The watch is also rated to 200m without having a screw down crown so there must be some nifty seal work going on inside. The dial can be busy for some but I like it, so all in all a great watch and if anyone is looking for a durable pilot style travel watch that can also handle a swim then i highly recommend it.

I've always wanted this watch. I've just never had the opportunity to buy one because something else came along.
