    AVI-8 watches

Has anyone owned one of these watches? They are not normally the kinda watch I would buy but I keep coming back to them. They aren't that expensive and I like the RAF inspired styling.

one night I dreamed I was locked in my fathers watch, with Ptolemy and twenty one ruby stars mounted on spheres and the primum mobile coiled and gleaming to the end of space and the notched spheres eating each other's rinds to the last tooth of time and the case closed - John Ciardi ...

Looked at these watches a lot, it was the military theme that first drew me to them as well. they seem to be of decent quality for the money, if you check the "watch it all about" blog he reviews a couple of them.

I am probably about to pull the trigger on a Hurricane chronograph from F72.

They do look really cool, don't they. Not seen one in the metal though.
