Omega Planet Ocean Chrono--won't stop running

Hey guys, my brother's PO Chrono (first gen) will not stop running. When you hit the main chrono pusher, there's no click or resistance, it just goes in and comes right back out. And since it's running, the other chrono pusher won't depress.

When I pull out the crown, it does stop.

    His PO looks like this:

Any idea what's wrong with it?

Sounds like something internally was broken or because dislodged. Hope you figured it out.
