This one wasn’t bad, and I have to laugh at all the how to videos just assuming we own a TWSBI Eco and happen to have the supplied wrench that comes with them. (We have two of them as it happens. )

I’m scared of messing up the Nib, so I left the grip section assembled and just ran distilled water through it. The plunger and rod got a drip of the oil that came with the TWSBI pens. Refilled with ink and it seems to be working as intended.

I bought a ton of ink samples in the past few weeks. It is a great way to try out inks before committing to purchase an entire bottle.

Today's winners are KWZ - Baltic Memories (a medium blue with some nice shading) and Akkerman 26 Groenmarkt Smaragd (a muted dark olive green that's work-friendly).

I tried out the inks using a $10 "Amazon Basics" fountain pen with a fine nib (that is closer to a medium).

I expect to use the Akkerman in a 1990's Montblanc #146 with a reasonably wet. and on the wider side, medium nib. For the KWZ, I first thought about one of my Parker Flighter 51's, but I'm always wary of putting a new, unknown (to me) ink in a vintage pen. That's even more true when the new ink comes from a microbrand. My current thought is to try it in a Sailor Pro Gear Slim, of which I have a number, maybe the Purple Cosmos model.

Many pen shops sell samples these days for $2 or $3. I got these samples from Vanness in Little Rock, Ark. and Anderson Pen Shop in Appleton, WI. I know Goldspot Pens and Goulet Pens also offer samples. Jetpens may do so as well; I can't remember.

Thanks. I enjoy FP & RB as well, but this works well for quick meeting motes with no fuss!
