Thread: Help me spend my friend's money!

Help me spend my friend's money!

So my longtime friend is looking for his next watch and has asked for some input. I thought it might be fun to elicit responses from the group here. At the very least we could get some nice pictures posted of suggestions

    Budget: 20k'ish

Already has: GO Panomatic lunar and Omega PO XL so nothing too close to either of those

Casual workplace and doesn't need to dress up often so a pure pure dress watch is probably a no.

Think he wants it to be from a 'high-end' brand

Can be a chronograph but need not be one.

    What say you?!

    Two possibilities in my mind:

The standard response is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph, ref. 26320, in steel.

But my preference is the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph with the new blue dial:

I had the opportunity of seeing the VC in person a couple of months ago, and was greatly impressed. It's a little cheaper than the AP.

Both use the same excellent Frederic Piguet 1185 chronograph movement.

Sporty but still with a bit of a classical appearance. Bracelet looks interesting. This is on my Pintrest board for the +10k options.

Here's a real-life picture of mine. The bracelet is superb, and I'm not a bracelet guy. It's pretty much impossible to capture all of the depth and beautiful details of this watch.
