Cutting a ring off a nato strap

Hey guys. I have a 5 ring nato, and wondering if any of you guys had ever cut off one of the rings from the smaller part? I would think that this is a job for the dremel, no? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Heavy duty side cutters, hacksaw or a dremel.
I expect you could also bend it a couple of times with pliers nd it would fracture

Easy to remove, but not sure why you would want to do so?

I find that wearing it correctly makes it too small and hurts my wrist, while wearing it incorrectly makes it sound like a Christmas elf.

Are you sure you are wearing it correctly? I'm confused as how wearing it correctly makes it smaller?

    OK
Now I've looked at some pictures I see what you mean.
