Thread: What would you do....

  1. #1

    What would you do....

    ...if the internet stopped

We've probably all experienced temporary outages , but what if it was off for a week, a month, forever !

....What if it was never coming back on.....
What would you do with the spare time you spend on it now?
Where would you buy things that matter to you?
Could you manage without some of the things that matter to you, that you currently only buy via the internet now, until you worked out how to use the phone directory again... that's after they started printing them again

...maybe just "what would you do !"

Retail would probably just grind to a halt , albeit temporarily until we went back to bricks and mortar store, many would just go out of business I expect.
(Based on many thread idea's from Mr C )

It would be bad. I'd have to speak to my friends on the phone. I'd probably play Xbox a lot, single player, or practice mode against bots.

The world managed for a long time before it but if for some reason it stopped suddenly, I hate to think of the consequences. .would surely mean a temporary economic collapse?

    I'd certainly miss it!

I suppose I mostly go without the internet for three months of the year. I can sometimes pick up a wi-fi signal in our Krakow apartment, but its unreliability means that I don't routinely try to access it - maybe once a week to make sure I haven't missed anything important. I have purposely not set up a connection because I quite enjoy the absence of the internet. I read more, listen to more music.

With the catastrophic loss of almost all of my displacement activities and distractions?

    Well...
