Lack of readability
There's a Christopher Ward Blue dial Slimline Manual in their sale at the moment, newly new. Good price. It's one of the few watches around with the 2801 movement. I've always felt the bezel was a bit stolid on it, but stock photos can be poor representations of watches so I went looking for other photos.
What struck me was how many photos I saw of the hands disappearing into the dial, eg
I just sold one blue dial watch because I was frustrated by the readability of the metal hands against the sunburst dial, I don't want the same situation all over again.
Also: no minute markers. So, overall, it's definitely from me.
But that dodgy readability. Even on the Nomos Blaugold the hands and indices don't leap out of the dial. I'm beginning to wonder if on a blue dial gold hands are near essential

Yes, the hands can disappear...almost to a black, and gone. Common on lots of black dialed pieces also, gold or lumed lined hands eliminate that problem.

The most legible piece of that watch is the logo.

Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
