Thread: Lack of readability

Yah, Grand Seiko dials are mainly all hands and markers. Red tip doesn't hurt either

Any of these are better than white hands on a white dial.

Kinda reminds me of my Cartier Pasha...it has blue dial coupled with silver skeleton hands...

Oh, I don't know... It can work if done properly. The only time this is a problem is when the light starts to fade; BUT, then the lume takes over:

WHY do they do this AT ALL?
    Drives me crazy.

All they have to do is, add a frame with a contrasting color (with respect to the dial) around the hands, if they want to avoid doing the lume - understandable in dress watches.
But this "nudge nudge wink wink"? WTF?
That's what it feel like to me with these sneaky stealth watches: I ask the watch for time, and it winks back with a smile, but NO answer.
So I gotta ask several more times, and each time more imploringly.
"Could you PLEASE effin' tell me the gawdang TIME!!!"

Do people really think a watch that is illegible is more "elegant" ?
What exactly goes on in their so-called minds?
