    There is no such thing as a regular Thomas version; paraphrasing 21 years down the line: Not all Thomas versions are equal.

    Confused? Well maybe you / we should be:

    Both pieces are "regular" Thomas versions, be it that the Open Star piece has the additional designation Diaoyu Island.
    With those already in the collection (the Red Star is my wife's) I didn't want to add a creme Trekkie version, so I can only show the black dial version (code name Black Ops) with the custom red chrono hand:

    I've got a 1963, 38mm with acrylic crystal out for delivery but I'm loving the black dial version too. How do you buy them? Is this a special Thomas order–have to email him directly?
