    crystals on Poljot / Sekonda de luxe 2209s: domed or flat?

    Yes! I have!!

    And by using Google to investigate the archives of the Old Place, I've got thoroughly confused as to which is the authentic crystal - a big dramatic dome, or something about 1mm more flat.

    I'll be adding links to what I've found, but anyone's got the genuine knowledge, please do share!

    well at a guess I would go domed as in my one flat as a replacement ?

    This does make sense.

    I wonder why skywatch changed his mind? I'll have a really thorough search through f10 posts, see if I can see the story develop....

    That gives me another reason for wanting to be in touch with him (the other is that a friend of mine wants to buy one of his Poljots )

    does do good one's don't he maybe he saw a lot more of the flat then domed and assume ? ... as I have done as I have seen lots of domed one's in different states of condition but don't think I have seen one flat so would be interesting would it not

    Ok, I've got some news!

    The flat crystals came from reserve stocks at Sekonda in the UK, presumably originally as some kind of option for the UK market. Apparently fitting them is a bit of a squeeze.

    Here's a photo of one of them fitted to a Sekonda, thus reduced to 7mm
