"The Departed" is now on my list to see.

Maybe a White Russian tonight, not as girlie!

I'm single, so I guess I have to consider my image.

Real men drink whatever the hell they like and don't care what anyone thinks.

About a decade ago the oddbins price list had a cartoon of a very sturdily-built man in a pub asking angrily "are you looking at my semillon?!" as he held he held a glass of white wine with incongruous delicacy. "It's a man's drink, I tell you, a man's drink."

Of course, and that's what I normally do, hence my fall back drink, cranberry and other juices (with vodka). I'm too old to worry about what other people think about my preferences.

Well, fifty-nine is my birth year, not my age, so I'm _only_ fifty-five years old! Unfortunately, I'm more knowledgeable (about some things I suppose) than wise!

I take your post as a compliment. I may no longer look or feel like a "young chap", but at least I can stay young in the best ways, I hope.

    Yea its Friday.
MrsO and I are on 5:2 for January and today is a drinking day. Starting with the only alcohol I can find open in the house. Whisky and coke before dinner.

Interesting. I'd like to give that a try.

Agreed. We used to go to this restaurant where the older than old Italian owner would comp us desert and limoncello every meal. I was very appreciative of the gesture, and just as appreciate that we always sat at the same table near a large potted plant!
