    The Great Global Novel...

    ...as told by IWL.

Inspired by my 12 year old daughter's favorite game on car trips, let's see if we can string together something with an interesting plot. Or if that's too tall an order, hopefully it'll at least be weird and funny. Not to be confused with the word association game - this one will periodically be compiled into prose and be made into chapters. So channel your inner Hemingway, Tolstoy, or Dickens, and let's see how we do. Maybe we can sneak it into the Library when Ray and Alan aren't looking...

The rules are simple - you get one sentence and must wait until two others have posted before submitting another. I will begin with the next post.

    THE END

Just Kidding: The road stretched ahead, but one single car drove slowly in front of me.

Who else, he asked himself, would have reason to find themselves on this godforsaken stretch of roadway?

But I felt ambivalent about the fact that she was my mother-in-law, with my wife sleeping in the backseat.

Meanwhile, it was a dark and stormy night.

If you come to a fork in the road; take it, and then put it down so someone else can use it.
