Probably a steel case model, similar to the DW-2000 or DW-3000. That would explain a higher price.

was going to say look ok at first glance but hmmm that serial number being what looks like a pair of pliers was crimped over it and looks deliberate to so yeah not good as reckon the ref was a fake can't see why else they would do that would send back if I was you not worth the risk
wonder if @Sedi or @Greg heard on anything like this as I tend towards vintage affordable g then the higher end ones ? so not heard owt like that but would not surprised if a clone one ?

Looks real to me.
But I wonder about the scratched off number. Maybe stolen? Or from an un-authorized seller who wants to make it untraceable? Wouldn't bother me however, if I just intended to wear it. However -- if it might be stolen, that would be another issue altogether. Pure speculation on my part though.

I edited my post above.
Maybe it was stolen? Or sold on the grey market by an unauthorized seller who wanted to cover his tracks.

yeah was thinking more you heard anything about the crimping of the ref number ? don't really take much notice of whats going on both kosher and not.. in more expensive watches say new hmmm think would cap at a ton as never had much luck on resale on the more expensive ones. after my storm trooper mess up. I stick to second hand ones almost as good and norm half the prices too
